March is B Corp month and we at ZiaBia have been updating the team on some fantastic B Corp suppliers and venues as part of our ongoing product development.
Working with B Corp aligned partners means the elements we source for your events support better environmental and social outcomes. And the best part? Sustainable and ethical choices don’t have to be boring.
Working with Greengage, and being a B Corp certified organisation, has made us think more about what we can be doing to make our everyday choices more consciously.
Because sustainability isn’t just about what you say – it’s about the partners you work with and the choices you make when bringing events to life.
Through a different lens
Here are a few ways we are rethinking what we source for events:
- SWAG that sticks around – branded merch people want to keep and reuse, made responsibly instead of throwaway freebies.
- Donate your SWAG budget to charity and let your event attendees know, or make a pre-defined donation every time someone scans your QR code at your expo booth
- Smarter stationery behind the scenes – notebooks, pens, and event materials made from recycled content or designed to be refillable.
- Branding that doesn’t cost the earth – cardboard signage, displays, and packaging made from recycled fibres that can be reused or easily recycled after the event.
- Turning waste into something new – upcycling materials into creative branded items rather than sending them straight to landfill.
- Making recycling easy for everyone – simple, well-placed recycling systems that help attendees and teams dispose of materials responsibly.
- Tackling food waste head-on – smarter catering choices, redistribution, and composting that keep perfectly good food out of the bin.
These choices may seem small individually, but together they can significantly reduce the environmental impact of events.
Supply chain considerations
Check your supply chain – try and source from an ethical supplier, or at least provide options for consideration. Here are some certifications to take into consideration:
- B Corp
- ISO14001 Environmental
- Living Wage employer
- FSC paper and card products
Make a conscious effort to shop local rather from the big players. Consider products made from a social enterprise or supplied by a minority-led organisation. Think differently, tell the story behind the product!
Venues
In terms of venues, there are so many B Corp venues to choose from:
- For luxury, high-end properties, we highly recommend the whole Exclusive Collection
- For smaller, high end rustic charm then the Pig Collection can fit the bill
- Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds offer three different properties on their grounds, from the 5-star Dormy House to Foxhill Manor and the Fish Hotel
- In London there is the Business Design Centre, One Aldwych and Uncommon to name a few
Did you know Lucky Saint, Baileys, Illy Coffee and Bird & Blend Tea are also B Corp?
If you would like to make your event more in-line with the B Corp ethos and work with venues and suppliers focused on sustainability and ethics then drop us a line, we’d be happy to chat.
