ZiaBia have recently been privileged to visit Trump Turnberry located on Scotland’s Ayrshire coast around an hour south of Glasgow City centre.
Location
Set in 800 acres on the west coast of Scotland with fabulous views across to Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran, Trump Turnberry resides in the most glorious of landscapes.
Facilities and activities
This 5 star property has 204 bedrooms and an array of facilities to compliment and enhance any conference or incentive group.
Facilities include three golf courses, one of which is ranked one of the “Top 10 Courses in the World” by Golf Digest, a luxuriously appointed spa and indoor pool plus a lengthy list of outdoor pursuits. Examples of these are:
- Off-road driving
- Quad biking
- Clay or target shooting
- Archery
- Falconry
- Gun dog demonstrations
- For horse riders, options range from lead rein lessons to beachside gallops to cater for all levels
Restaurants include the 1906 fine dining restaurant, Lounge Bar and Duel in the Sun. The hotel will happily provide bbqs or picnic lunches for those groups on their outdoor pursuits.
Meeting spaces
Their meetings spaces are deceptively spacious. Their largest ballroom has space for up to 500 and their second and third spaces holding 200 and 180 respectively all with natural light. The hotel also welcomes exclusive use – a perfect solution for a variety of events.
Our experience
We travelled to Scotland by train with Avanti West Coast, rather than flying to Glasgow. The journey from Euston London took 4 hours 45 minutes, which is comparable to getting to Heathrow. The train provides ample space for your luggage and very comfortable seats with plenty of legroom. There is a desk to work on, with power and USB ports, for business trips. The train journey also has the advantage of being more sustainable instead of a flight or driving and is surprisingly cost effective too!
