Why become a Charity Partner?
As a responsible business it is vital that we use our platform for good. One of our goals for 2024 was to align ourselves with a charity who best represents what we want to give back to the community and the planet, and this is continuing in 2025.
Meeting Needs have been known to ZiaBia for some time. We agreed that they were the perfect fit as they raise funds within the hospitality industry.
Who are Meeting Needs?
Meeting Needs are a foundation that awards life-changing grants to small charities. These stem from funds raised from within the meetings and events industry. Beneficiaries include:
- Electric Umbrella who create live music experiences with learning disabled people
- Clowns without Borders who use play to help refugee children heal, learn and thrive
- Champion Chazinge provide resources to schools in Tanzania with a focus on sustainable teachings
Our connection to the cause
In November 2020 we had the pleasure to work with Electric Umbrella when delivering a virtual event. ZiaBia have followed their good work since then and upon discovering that they were associated with Meeting Needs we decided to become involved.
What are we doing in 2025?
ZiaBia are planning on leading our own charity activities this year with Meeting Needs as the beneficiary. We are going to be raising funds during our next Wellbeing Challenge and we already have lots of ideas – watch this space!
As an agency we are fortunate enough to sometimes receive gifts from suppliers. ZiaBia made the decision to kindly ask any partners and suppliers who have an appointment with us to make a voluntary donation to Meeting Needs rather than providing any tasty goodies.
In a recent team day, we asked the team to put forward local Bristol charities to obtain Meeting Needs grants for community projects.
